Series "Limited Edition"
Back and Sides of this instrument are KULAWOOD, also known and grown throughout the world as Prima Vera. More commonly known in Hawaii as the Gold Tree or Gold Shower Tree due to its beautiful and profuse display of yellow flowers. The wood too has a warm golden glow, with a graceful silky grain. The tone, volume and projection of Kulawood has now placed it among the finest of instrument grade woods. For the top soundboard we have added our highest quality Alaskan Spruce, and then the top, back, and fingerboard are bound with Premium grade curly Koa. Purfling is made of alternate strips of black and white inlay, and the back strip is curly Koa. The rosette inlay around the soundhole is abalone shell. Neck is quartersawn, pattern-grade Mahogany. Ebony fingerboard has offset pearl position dots. Ebony bridge has ebony bridge pins with pearl inlay. Ebony faceplate "Ko'olau" logo is inlaid in pearl. Grover gold mini closed gear tuners with solid ebony buttons. Bone nut and saddle, and Ko'olau Gold Strings, with wound Gold 4th string.
