Ko'olau Guitar & 'Ukulele
The shop is located in Wahiawa, on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. Solid woods, locally harvested from the Hawaiian Islands, such as Koa, Hawaiian Mahogany, Kulawood, Milo, Kolohala, and Milo are used to make Ko'olau Instruments. Extensive time and care is given to each instrument to insure the best tone and projection. The shop is located in the town of Wahiawa, in the central highland area of Oahu, approximately 15 minutes from the North Shore, and 45 minutes from Honolulu. See the menu bar for Location, Shop Tour, instrument models and photos, descriptions of different woods used, and read about the history of the 'ukulele and its interesting migration to the Hawaiian Islands.
Ko'olau Guitar & 'Ukulele proudly sponsors Roy Sakuma's Ukulele Festivals of Hawaii with Ko'olau and Pono 'ukuleles. 2008 celebrates the 38th annual festival at Kapiolani Park in Honolulu, with additional festivals on Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island
