Pono Feedback
back to Pono Guitars & 'Ukuleles Aloha John, I am so grateful to you for the instrument you chose, it is a pretty, beautiful, fine, lovely, graceful, handsome, fair, elegant, charming, and attractive instrument. Upon receiving it I just felt like a child, it was hard for me to put it away into the hard case last night. I have experience with acoustic instruments, that they get better with playing, but it is unbelievable the richness of the sound already, and if I thought that I knew an ukulele, I admit, I was wrong. You just exceeded my expectations! So, accept and express my best regards and gratitude to you and all your team, for this superb instrument. And everything that came with it. Thank you for the hard case, the extra strings, your politeness. I really wish you all prosperity and sucess and hope that soon I can buy another ukulele from you. Again, my best regards, and I look forward to performing with my Pono ukulele at next Friday's concert. With my best regards, Hildebrando Soares, Your No. 1 Pono Ukulele Portugese Fan ! from Mr. Soares, Lisbon, Portugal
Greetings Ko'olau staff, I recently called your company inquiring about an ukulele that I found on your website. I was about to order the instrument through you folks but found that I was only miles away from Island Legends in Torrance which carries your fine line of ukuleles. I purchased a tenor, koa wood construction ukulele from them and couldn't be more happy with the instrument. I just recently started playing the ukulele and have fallen in love with the little four-string instrument. I am writing just to commend you folks on a awesome job creating such a fine instrument. I especially want to thank Dean (I think that was his name) for advising me and being such an 'aloha' person to talk to. I spoke to him on the phone prior to the purchase of the instrument and he was very friendly and sincere about his knowledge and passion for the ukulele. Hawaii folks sure are pleasant to talk to, maybe it's the paradise scene that you folks get to see everyday. Anyway, thanks again to Ko'olau/Pono for the great instrument, and most of all, the staff having great customer service and knowledge about the ukulele. Cheers, C. Ward ps: my 5th grade students will get to hear the ukulele for the first time!

(a note to Bounty Music on Maui after the purchase of a Pono PT Tenor ukulele): Aloha, this is T Bone, AKA Jeff Philpot. I received my uke on 7-30-07. This thing has the voice of an angel. I cannot get over its lightness and sound. The set up is great. I am also impressed with the low G set. Thank you for your good counsel and advise.
Hi to John and all the folks at Ko'olau, Hello John, I received the Pono Concert Ukulele you sent me yesterday. What a wonderful tiny instrument. The craftsmanship is outstanding. Plays & sounds great. I can't get it away from my wife. Thank you very much for your prompt & excellent service. Respectfully, Dan D. Troy MI Hello Paul B.,
My Pono ukulele arrived safe and sound on Friday and I finally had to put it down this morning so I could go to work! It is absolutely beautiful and the sound is wonderful. So full and rich. It’s such a difference compared to what I’ve been playing for the last year. I don’t know why I waited so long.
Best regards, Just a note that my ukulele arrived in good shape. It is a real joy to play and I have to say that the workmanship is impeccable. The ukulele has real good tone and great sustain. To be honest, it is more than I expected for the price. Your company does not have to take a back seat to any ukulele manufactures in the world, as far as I am concerned. I am pleased that I chose to purchase a Pono. It is a pleasure to play this ukulele. Thanks for making such an outstanding product.
sincerely yours, Aloha! I recently purchased my new Pono Mahogany Tenor 'ukulele from Musicguymic. Although I am new to the 'ukulele, I am an experienced brass player and know the folly of attempting to learn to play on a "beginner" instrument. Learning on a quality, professional level instrument always goes much more smoothly. The ease with which my new 'ukulele plays and its beautiful sound are making my learning a joy. I have shown my new Pono to several professional guitarists here in the Buffalo area, and they have all been wowed by the quality of the materials and workmanship - then they play it. The sound is so full and clear that they want to turn the instrument over in their hands again as if to see where that beautiful tone is coming from. Thank you for producing a quality instrument that is such a joy to play. Peace, Terry Feedback from a customer who purchased a Pono 'ukulele from one of our dealers, Bounty Music on Maui: Dear Paul, Aloha and good evening from the United Kingdom. I have received the Pono and am now strumming away merrily. It is a fantastic instrument with superb intonation and excellent build quality. I have a few friends who own hand built instruments and they all remarked how good the Pono is, in comparison. It has certainly exceeded my expectations! Many thanks for your prompt and efficient service. I would not hestitate to recommend you and your products to other players and indeed have already done so! Best wishes and many thanks once again. Regards, S.R., United Kingdom The Pono baritone arrived late yesterday (from Bounty Music). I was dumfounded. There are no pictures which can describe the magnificent looks and sound of this uke. And the Pono hard case is just as smashing as the uke. ~ Thanks, Bill E. I bought a Pono Koa baritone (PKB-2) five weeks ago from Music Exchange in Hilo. I bought it on sight alone without even checking the tone. Is that impulsive or confidence or what? I'm trying to write a book on baritone uku slack key and making videos to supplement the book. What fascinated me when I first spotted your Pono baritone was the neck! It has these beautiful curls and flame. Just magnificent ... a real professional production. And of course the playability and sound is what you would expect from a such a magnificent koa ukulele. It's really underpriced. As a uke player for over fifty years and a small scale luthier I can state with reservation that this Pono baritone is a quality instrument. ~ Aloha no, Uncle Dave Video of Uncle Dave playing his PKB-2 I received
my Pono PTCE, mahogany with cedar top, and pickup. I had heard good reviews,
but have to admit I was skeptical about quality at this price. I have
fallen into the same trap as most of us, wanting good quality at a cheap
price. Although the Pono is not in the "cheap" catagory of most
of the imports, at a retail price of $489.95 I feel I got more than my
money's worth. My last uke pickup and installation alone came to $115.00,
just for the pickup! And this passive pickup by far blows away any ukulele
pickup I have ever heard. I then spliced in a little
EQ preamp between the uke and amp and it was amazing! And the tenor uke,
with mahogany and cedar is the sweetest thing I have ever heard, and more
volume than any of my other ukuleles, but better yet, deep rich tone and
good intonation. I don't know how you do it?
