Mr. Sakuma has now become known as the single most influential ‘ukulele teacher, for children and adults. For over 35 years he has not only owned and operated the largest ‘ukulele teaching studio in the world, but this year celebrated his 33rd year of producing the Annual ‘Ukulele Festival. He and his wife, Kathy have taught thousands of children in Hawaii the joy of playing ‘ukulele. Many now have gone on to professional recording careers. And each year, free of charge he produces and directs the Annual ‘Ukulele festival. Roy and Kathy Sakuma have truly displayed the “aloha” spirit toward all of the people of Hawaii.
