I know upon reading letters on this web-site most people writing are true ukulele enthusiasts. This is something I can not claim to be as I approach the Ukulele as a musical tool for media composition and occasional L.A. session player. This is not to say I am unaware of certain Hawaiian influences, as I love slack-key guitar and enjoy listening to others play the ukulele.

As a television, movie and game composer I need a functional instrument that speaks when recording but sits nicely in a track and my 2 Pono's, a PCE-Concert and PTE-Tenor do just that. I use the ukuleles for presenting moods as vast as innocent child like settings in movie scenes,? to being the driving rhythm instrument in a chase scene for reality TV shows, America's Most Wanted (Fox) and Suburban Secrets (Court TV), to backing show tunes for the animated PBS show Danger Rangers. The Pono instruments sound great, stay in tune and are a joy to play. Hopefully in the near future I will purchase? a Ko'olau model to go along with my Ponos. Thanks John for making wonderful instruments and adding a great color to my composing and session playing palette.
