The Ukulele Cowboy Society

The Ukulele Cowboy Society is a Fun, Hot-t-t, Eclectic Indie Jazz and Swing Style Duo creating excitement in the present with a nod to the past.

Their performance repertoire is reminiscent of and heavily influenced by the Gershwin's, Billie Holiday, Judy Garland, Hank Williams, Peggy Lee, Cole Porter, Lena Horne, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, and many other artists of the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, and beyond.

The Ukulele Cowboy Society relies on the strong rhythmic foundation of Michael Kaplan's Baritone Ukulele. The lyrical and percussive sound swims upstream from the traditional experience of Ukulele Music. Jesse Chandler's vocal renditions of the great Swing and Jazz standards evolve from a strong classical, theatrical and pop music background rolled into a style of song all her own.

Michael Kaplan plays several different Ko'olau Pono ukuleles. His latest acquisition has been an ABD Acacia Baritone. Here's the latest update we have received: "I am thrilled! The Acacia Baritone arrived today and it is absolutely stunning. The fit, finish, and quality of manufacturing are everything that I expected and more ..... This is why The Ukulele Cowboy Society plays Pono ukuleles. Can't wait for my Rosewood Cedar top to be completed".

"But Pono ukuleles are worth waiting for ..... no question about it".
